  • Hypnotherapy for Inner Child Work

    Many of the patterns we struggle with as adults, such as anxiety, people pleasing, or a persistent feeling of not being enough, actually stem from experiences we had years ago. These echoes of the past are often held by what we call the inner child, the part of our subconscious mind that retains the emotions and memories of our younger selves.

    While we cannot change the events of our past, hypnotherapy offers a way to change how those events impact us today. It allows us to communicate directly with that younger version of ourselves to provide the safety and validation they may have lacked.

    In a standard waking state, we often try to reason our way out of our triggers. We tell ourselves we should not feel a certain way, yet the emotional reaction remains. This is because these feelings are stored in the subconscious, beyond the reach of logic.

    The Process of Re Parenting

    Inner child healing through hypnotherapy is essentially a process of re parenting. You, as your current adult self, become the protector and advocate your younger self needed.

    The sessions often involve:

    • Identifying the Origin: Pinpointing the specific age or event where a limiting belief, like “I am not safe” or “I am unimportant,” first took root.

    • Providing Comfort: Mentally offering the younger version of yourself the words, hugs, or presence that would have changed the experience at the time.

    • Releasing Stored Emotion: Allowing the child to express suppressed anger, sadness, or fear in a safe, controlled environment.

    • Updating the Script: Helping the subconscious realize that the rules created in childhood to survive are no longer necessary for your adult life.

    Witnessing the Transformation

    Watching the shift that occurs during these sessions is incredibly moving. My clients frequently report a lightness in their chest or a sudden clarity that they have not felt in years. When the inner child feels seen and protected, the adult self no longer has to carry the burden of those old defenses.
